708

Picture
Footnotes: Forager 708 bull is a very attractive grandson of Forager 308 which is also triple bred to Forager 308’s dam, our Beulah 816 cow.  Forager 708 is line bred over 38 times to the great Luria of Wye cow, who weaned nearly 10,000 lbs. of calves in her lifetime and was the breed’s oldest living pathfinder cow at the time of her death.  In terms of efficiency and productivity we believe Luria is one of greatest Angus females ever born. Forager 708 is also triple bred to OCC Homer 650H, a proven bull for calving ease and siring efficient females with superior udder quality. 708 should sire low birth weight calves with excellent growth. Weight as of 10/19/2018: 1,240lbs

Footnotes: Forager 714 should prove to be a real cowmaker.  His extended pedigree traces multiple times to the great Wye Plantation sires Bear of Wye and Leonid of Wye, plus he is double bred to Beulah 816, the dam of Forager 308 and traces a minimum of 28 times to the Luria of Wye cow.  It should also be noted that the dam of 714 has produced 11 calves with a 366 day calving interval and is still going strong—a no miss cow. Plus he also traces to our Molly 705 cow which produced 13 calves with a weaning weight ratio of 111 and a calving interval of 371 days. Weight as of 10/19/2018: 1,405lbs

Dutch Creek Farms is retaining one-third semen interest in bull 714 with no possession.  Dutch Creek may, at the buyer's convenience collect semen from the said bull for within herd or commercial use.  The buyer receives two-thirds interest full possession of said bull and is in no way limited in activities with the bull or his semen.  Either party may promote and merchandise semen from said bull.  Either party may sell their interest in said bull at any time and is only required to notify the other owner that the transaction has occurred.

Footnotes: Forager 724 should prove to be an excellent calving ease sire.  Another really good Forager 308 son you will also note the linebreeding of his ancestry as he is the product of a ¾ brother-sister mating.  As an added plus he traces to our great Pathfinder Cow, Beulah 718 which is the Dutch Creek version of Luria of Wye as she too weaned over 5 tons of calves in her lifetime, producing 16 calves with a 106 ratio while maintaining a 389 day calving interval. Forager 724 is a true alpha dominate bull, but to humans is as gentle as a teddy bear! Weight as of 10/19/2018: 1,240lbs

Footnotes: Forager 727 is another ¾ brother-sister mating which should prove to be a real heifer bull.  Also sired by Forager 308, we believe he is the bull to go with if you’re looking to reduce the size of your cows and to lower cowherd maintenance costs.  But just as important, few bulls can match his ability to sire progeny which will produce choice grade beef on forage alone. Weight as of 10/19/2018: 1,165lbs

Footnotes: Forager 732 is another great 308 son we believe has great potential to impact any operation through his ability to sire calves which can do the job on forage alone.  Having a pedigree packed with outstanding individuals which includes a Pathfinder dam, Forager 732 is living proof that you don’t have to sacrifice growth when scaling down the size of the animal. Plus, he should be fine to use on heifers. Weight as of 10/19/2018: 1,360lbs

Footnotes: Forager 739 is a feature of this offering as he is a maternal ½ brother to Forager 308, plus he is triple bred to the dam of 308 as well.  It has been said that the term “tank” does not adequately describe his sire Forager 509. Plus 509’s dam, Beulah 227 is one of the deepest bodied, easiest keeping cows you will ever find. For producing replacement females suitable for an all forage environment, this guy will get the job done. Weight as of 10/19/2018: 1,275lbs

He is double bred to the dam of Forager 308 and on the bottom side of his pedigree traces back to the Molly 705 cow which is one of our very best foundation cows whose influence is found throughout our herd. Weight as of 10/19/2018: 1,370lbs

Footnotes: Forager 619 is a bull we held back for use in our own herd.  He will be brought in from the pasture just prior to our sale date. As is the case with his sire Forager 308, he will be coming in from breeding cows in better shape than when he went out.  We regard his dam as one of our most productive and efficient cows having weaned 7 calves with a 359 day calving interval. It should be noted that 6 of the 8 animals shown in the third generation of his pedigree trace quickly to Crandell of Wye, one of Leonid’s very best sons and one of the most impressive forage bulls we have ever been associated with.  Forager 619 is long bodied, smooth shouldered and very fluid in his movement. Plus very gentle natured. Dutch Creek has collected 619 and will be retaining a 1/3 semen interest. Full possession will go to the buyer.
